Siena Hotel Spa and Casino Reno Nevada

An interesting case, the Siena Hotel and Spa was conceived as a high-end, boutique resort that has been forced to scale back its original vision a bit. What's left is a unique hotel-casino designed to recall Italy with swooping architecture and a more pleasant atmosphere than many of the better-known casinos.Siena Hotel Spa Casino Reno Nevada

Siena's 23,000-square-foot casino aims for the feel of a classic Tuscan village. With rustic archways, stone pillars, and country frescos, the decor resembles traditional Italian construction.

This Reno hotel features 185 rooms and 29 suites that range in size up to 1,200 square feet. Each is designed to offer a river or mountain view. In every room, custom fabrics, high-quality sheets and refrigerators add a bit of modern convenience to the classic style.

While Siena has no nightclubs, it offers extensive gym facilities and one of the area's top spas, which specializes in treatments for men. It also offers several restaurants that compare favorably to anything else in town:

The contemporary Lexie's on the River emphasizes fresh ingredients presented artistically, accompanied by a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine list. Chefs create cuisine from around the world in a modern open kitchen, while customers enjoy deliberately European views of the Truckee River.

Enoteca, Italian for "wine cellar," teams superb appetizers with splendid wines. More than 35 wines are served by the glass, and a special appetizer menu recommends fare to accentuate the taste of each. Enoteca drops the "let's party" vibe prevalent in many other casinos and is instead a relaxed, smoke-free place to hang out and unwind.
